Parra Family Organic was founded in 1993 by three brothers: Francisco, Javier, and Luis. Despite the size of the operation, the brothers handle most of the office work themselves and are closely involved in every step of the process.
Everyone contributes to all areas; when asked more specifically, however, Francisco will admit that he focuses more on sales and marketing, while Javier concentrates on winemaking. Luis is on hand everywhere and spends a lot of time on his passion: pigeon breeding.
Organic farming techniques include: composting, the use of fermented manure, liquid manure, plant macerations, green manure, crop rotation and associations, hedges, spaces integrated into the production area for native flora and fauna, soil cover, and mixed agro-livestock systems.
